The ACA Was a Big HR Story in 2014 and Will be Again in 2015

By / December 30, 2014 / Uncategorized No Comments

The HR Solutions team had a very good year in 2014 and our company grew a considerable amount. As the human resources landscape keeps changing, more companies are coming to us to help them with their complex administrative needs. Much of our growth is correlated with the requirements and regulations of the Affordable Care Act. The amount of compliance in that law has made it necessary for many small and medium-sized businesses to ask for help.

One of the lessons we learned this year was how complicated the Affordable Care Act regulations are. We weren’t surprised, of course, but it’s become clear to us how much help our clients will need in dealing with this legislation. As more guidelines were issued, we took on the task of researching and clarifying the new rules for our clients, spending hours and hours getting to the bottom of the sometimes contradictory guidances.

Human Resources Challenges for 2015

The IRS and Department of Labor added agents to enforce compliance. HR departments will need to be on their toes when it comes to reporting information — number of employees, salaries paid, hours worked and so on — to the government for ACA purposes.
