National Payroll Week — September 2-6, 2013

Celebrating the Payroll Professionals who pay you accurately and on time!

National Payroll Week celebrates the hard work by America’s 156 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who pay them. Together, through the payroll withholding system, they contribute, collect, report, and deposit approximately 1.78 trillion dollars, or 70.5%, of the annual revenue of the U.S. Treasury.  That’s trillion…as in 12 zeros.

Recent statistics show that many Americans could not survive financially even one week without a paycheck. As payroll professionals we understand that what we do affects not only affects your paycheck, but your livelihood. The Payroll Team at HR Solutions works diligently to ensure you are paid correctly and timely.

Although payroll is only one area that we specialize in at HR Solutions, in honor of National Payroll Week, we would like to provide some educational information on outsourcing your payroll through our company.  Though most companies try to process payroll in house, many chose to outsource their payroll responsibilities to a payroll service provider. By outsourcing with a payroll provider, a business is able to focus their valuable time on what’s most important – effectively managing their people and growing their businesses. In today’s ever changing business environment, more and more companies are realizing that it’s far more efficient and cost effective to outsource these services to a trusted and experienced partner, like HR Solutions.

Payroll processing is a task that must be performed flawlessly – the American Payroll Association was established more than 30 years ago to focus on educating the payroll community. The APA certifies, supports, and educates payroll professionals by conducting hundreds of training courses annually. By keeping on top of changing tax laws and regulations, organizations like the APA help payroll professionals stay better informed about complex subjects, from how much tax to deduct to when to report income. As payroll professionals, we must keep current with ever changing tax laws, federal and state governments, and understand and correctly implement laws on topics such as overtime pay, child support withholdings, garnishments, and fringe benefits. Every time the payroll law regulation is changed, payroll professionals are tasked with interpreting and implementing that new law quickly and effectively.

That brings us to what we are celebrating – Every year, the APA recognizes the efforts of payroll professionals during Labor Day week to celebrate the contributions of America’s employees and the payroll professionals who pay them accurately and promptly.

So next time its payday and you receive your pay stub, remember that there was someone who cared and took the time to make sure that you received it correctly and on time!

Have you thanked your payroll professional today?
