It is the holiday season and the time for a festive office holiday party with your co-workers!  There are many embarrassing stories that can be told from past holiday parties; but if you play your cards right and follow a few simple do’s and don’ts, you could use your office holiday party as a networking opportunity and possibly make professional connections that can bring you to the next level in your organization.

• DO- Dress festively, but keep it appropriate.

• DO- Get to know your co-workers on a personal level.

• DON’T- Gossip, complain, brag, etc.  Keep it upbeat!

• DON’T- Stay on your phone the entire party.  This is the time to be social with your co-workers.

• DON’T- Drive home if you had an alcoholic beverage.

• DON’T- Forget you are still subject to all company policies while at the office party (E.G. Harassment Policy)
